ABOUT Loved Twice

Loved Twice is a 501(c)(3) charity organization located in Northern California dedicated to delivering gently used and new baby clothes directly to underprivileged newborns upon their departure from hospitals.

Thanks to the generosity of the community and its many volunteers, Loved Twice has donated over 20,000 pounds of recycled baby clothing to more than 3,000 newborns in need through our network of over 30 social service partners. We are proud of our “green” approach, circulating items which can be reduced/reused/recycled, keeping them from landfills.

The idea for Loved Twice took flight in 2005 when Lisa Klein, San Francisco Bay Area Founder and Executive Director, collected donations of baby clothing from her friends and neighbors and sent them to a church in Louisiana to help families displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Katrina was especially devastating to disadvantaged mothers who simply needed to keep their babies warm. Just having had her first child, Lisa was deeply motivated to help the victims of Katrina.

Lisa turned her compassion into passion and started Loved Twice to help underprivileged mothers care for their babies in her own community, giving them a better start in life with much needed essentials.
